NerveCalm is made from herbs, but several of them act on the nervous system. Most healthy adults tolerate them well; a few cautions apply.

Medication interactions
- Sedatives, sleep aids, anxiety medicine, opioids and alcohol: added drowsiness.
- Diabetes medicine: prickly pear may lower blood sugar.
- Other medicines: marshmallow mucilage can slow absorption; take other medicines an hour apart.
Who should not use it without medical advice
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Anyone under 18.
- People with liver disease.
- Anyone who must stay alert at work or behind the wheel until they know how it affects them.
Nerve symptoms that need a doctor
- Sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side.
- A foot sore or wound that does not heal.
- Loss of balance or frequent falls.
- Symptoms that spread or get worse quickly.
